This is a searchable database of phytoliths produced by the vegetation of the Dhofar region of Oman. For each species there is a card with plenty of photographs illustrating the phytoliths extracted from the plant, detailed plant description (useful for its identification in the field), ecological information, uses and a bibliography. Below is an example of part of a collection card showing how it is organised.

Near East Phytolith Reference Collection

This is an extensive, searchable database of phytoliths from grasses, herbs and arboreal plants from Israel. Very useful tool as phytoliths from woody plants are grouped according to their anatomical provenance (wood, bark and leaves). Below is an example of the reference collection photographs.
